I how would you rate my and your behavior? Need I remind you of few trips. Does going to the Tetons knowing full well that a massive arctic storm is approaching sound like sensible behavior? Going to ice climb in a blizzard several miles from the trail head with no bivy gear only to wind up climbing 1500 feet up an avalanching ravine? What about going to climb an active volcano that erupts multiple times everyday? Or "free soloing" 200+ feet of 5th class garbage rock with snow and ice? What did you say about my most likely cause of death? > 2. physiological resilience You swear I can change this but I say it's all in the genes, but you have me beat hands down on this one. > 3. equipment, equipment, equipment Ahh, now here's where I can bury myself, and think I already have. But still, it's nice to have it, know that it works, and know how to use it. Last night, I reminded myself what -22 F (-30 C) is really like, as Aaron and I paid a 3 hour visit to the HPER enviromental chamber. Aaron found out that his 0 F bag just will not cut it in that cold, but 2 bags (20 F and 0 F) is quite warm. I found out my new Asolo doubles are warmer than my Lowas and that I am comfortable in only running shorts in my -40 F bag. :) Now, I am happy. > > --just a friendly reminder since I will be on your trip > > --Alex > Thanks, I needed that.
