Note 44.499 MOUNT-L 499 of 517 CUPIDO::STRITAR "Andrej Stritar, IJS,(61)-1885-450" 21 lines 12-JAN-1995 08:12 CUPIDO::STRITAR "Andrej Stritar, IJS,(61)-1885-450" 21 lines 12-JAN-1995 08:12 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subj: Re: advice on RMI,Inc. Date: 12-Jan-1995 Posted-date: 12-Jan-1995 The guide service oftt RMI is a good one, but a tough one. Since Rainier is one of the toughest Mountians is the lower 48 it is very demanding. RMI is very quick to excuse you (at their choice) if you can not keep up. The most important thing with Rainier is to be in _TOP_ physical shape before attempting it. I have done the mountian and know that this is the most important factor. I am a climbing instructor in St. Louis and sereral of my clients have used the RMI service. All of them were novices when they went to RMI. Lou Whitaker runs the guides. Safety is one of the most important issues that the guides stress, so you are in good hands with them. I would say that RMI is a quality service that teaches modern technique using modern equipment. Use RMI, but rember to be in good shape before you leave Paradise. Mark Allen allen@lc.lindenwood.edu
