Note 44.110 MOUNT-L 110 of 517 CUPIDO::STRITAR "Andrej Stritar,IJS,(61)-371-321" 24 lines 14-SEP-1992 07:59 CUPIDO::STRITAR "Andrej Stritar,IJS,(61)-371-321" 24 lines 14-SEP-1992 07:59 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 01-Sep-1992 Posted-date: 01-Sep-1992 I just thought that I should reply to your searching message. I just joined this group and was hoping to find it a bit more active. Seeing that it is not a very active group I feel that it is up to us to get some conversation going. As for new mountain climbing/hiking stories I will supply my share. All of my stories are new because I have just started hiking/mountaineering. I did get started hiking a few years ago down in West Texas in Guadalupe National Park. It was a wonderful time and the sport had certainly got into my blood. The past two years I have been going to Colorado for a week or so in the summer. Last year I spent most of my time mountain biking, but this year I hiked part of the Colorado trial, and climbed my first 14,000 footer, Mt. Yale, one of the colegiate peaks. It was an easy climb (i.e. basically no technical climbing), but the view at the top could not have been more spectacular. It was a perfect day; no wind, 65 degrees F, and just the right amount of clouds. It did snow while I was on top too. Needless to say I am hooked. I am already trying to figure a way to get back to Colorado this season to climb another one. Well I hope that this can get the ball rolling so that I can hear some great climbing stories from more experienced people. I also would like to get ideas for future trips. ;-)
