Just to add one thought about sweating in a down bag:

Using a VBL sounds aweful but isn't really and eliminates the danger of wetting
one's bag from the inside.
It also adds significant warmth to the bag and can also allow one to dry a fair
bit of clothing from within
the bag without destroying its loft. I always use mine in winter, don't feel
like i'm in a pool of sweat
and have a dry bag after a week!
