Having just returned from Nepal thought I'd reply to your call for info on
trekking. I did the Annapurna Sanctuary route which was quite pleasant and
not difficult at all - going up as far as Annapurna Base Camp. There are
'guest houses' all the way up from Pokhara and as we were there in off-peak
season getting a bed and meal was not a problem. I didn't notice much a a
problem with garabge etc and the Sanctuary's trust is working hard to
minimize the impact of tourists.

If you have any specific questions you would like to ask please contact
me. Most people do the treks around the area on their own as there isn't
any need for a guide or porter really.
