Yeah, there are people out here. . . I'm not sure what
it is we're supposed to be doing on this discussion list, but
just for the sake of saying Something, let me recommend climbing
in the Shawangunks in New York. I know this isn't hard core
alpine adventuring, but the climbing is fantastic and fun (and
the place is gorgeous, especially with the fall
colors). Has anyone else been there lately??
One other mundane thing I've been wondering about . . . wh a t
is anyone's opinion about which belaying device works best.
I'm getting sort of furs trated with the t uber, but don't
like figure eights (too heavy, and they twist the
rope) and the plain old Munter hitch--that also gets the rope pre
tty t wisted. Any other suggestions??
