Apparently there is a drug available which aids acclimatisation. (The
name of it has escaped me for the moment.) Does anyone out there know
exactly what it does and by what mechanism it achieves its results. I
mean, does it prevent headaches? Tiredness?
Also, I have heard that it is available on prescription from doctors in
the UK. Are there any British climbers out there who have had it
prescribed and have successfully - or unsuccessfully - used it at altitude.
And just how easy was it to convince your doctor it was needed?
