I exercise (aerobically) 5x/wk Šswim 2 miles, run 15 and climb
1-2x all tolled. I'm 5'9"-160lbs ]. In the summer I add biking
(road) to the mix.
I have used a stairmaster on occasion, but I've found that
swimming and running do a better job of keeping me in good
condition. However, if you think the staimaster workout is a
necessity please let me know. Additionally, how long/at what
setting/how frequently do you use the thing. Finally, any other
specific suggestions for a prepratory work-out would be much
appreciated.

I ahve heard they are good to, and from talking with some of
their clients I would say they do a good job.
