I just returned from a four day winter camp here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We woke up Saturday morning to ten below temps. I made and slept in an igloo - it was great fun. Some of the things you need to consider are: 1. types of clothing and the layering principal 2. navigation with map and compass 3. fire starting and fire starting methods 4. food and preperation These are just a few things to think about. There are many good books on the subject and local sport shops may be able to provide good advice. Sit down with someone experienced in winter camping and pick their brain. The forest, covered with snow, is a beautiful place to be. Enjoy your trip.
