Dome de la Lauze 3568m (Michel_Vivaudou, 30.06.2018)
For the last ski tour of the season, we chose to go up to Refuge Evariste Chancel. We reached this hut by taking the cable car from La Grave, and walking one hour. The next day, our destination was Dome de la Lauze. We were able to put on the skis 30 minutes from the hut, and went up to the top under sunny skies with the magnificent view of the mountains of Les Ecrins. Skiing was good in the top third, fairly bad in the middle (the snow was shaped like egg boxes!), and again good at the bottom.
Unexpectedly the mountains were very quiet because the cable car from La Grave was broken and did not go to the top station. A beautiful day!
