Greetings all!

My wife and I are just beginning to plan a 10 day trip to the Adirondaks in
early June of this year. We've never been there before and are finding
overall information hard to come by. It's soooo huge we are seeking help on
where others may have been--their favorites places.

We intend to camp in a tent and do day hikes. I don't think we'll be doing
any backpacking during this trip, although it hasn't been ruled out.

The high peaks region sounds too popular for our tastes. Is it really, even
this time of year? We like hiking very much, but the crowds of people we
can do without.

We're also interested in doing some canoing. Anyone have a favorite lake to
canoe on?

Another interest is birding. Ideas on good places?

Well, in basic, if you've been there, we'd like to hear from you,
especially your favorite experiences, places, etc.
